Orissa Rifle Association revived

Orissa Rifle Association (ORA) was revived after a gap of around 13 years with the nomination of a 21-member new governing body at Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar today. According to media reports, the reconstituted body includes president and Planning and Coordination Minister A U Singhdeo, general secretary Hari Prasad Pattnaik, chief adviser and Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera, two advisers, six vice-presidents, one patron, one joint secretary, one assistant secretary, one treasurer and six executive members.

The new body claimed that it would seek affiliation from National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) to enable shooters from the state to compete at the national and international level. The new body also announced to develop infrastructure facility for the sports in the state and organise domestic competitions.
